Dyson 360 Vis Nav: The AI Vacuum That Maps, Thinks, and Conquers

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav brings Dyson’s engineering into the AI era. With its panoramic camera, edge-cleaning precision, and smart suction control, this robot vacuum redefines intelligent cleaning.

The Brain Behind the Bristles

For years, Dyson stood at the top of handheld and upright vacuum innovation, but the Dyson 360 Vis Nav marks its leap into full AI territory. This isn’t a simple cleaning bot—it’s an intelligent, vision-driven robot with the mechanical heart of a Dyson vacuum and the mind of a digital explorer.

At first glance, the 360 Vis Nav looks futuristic yet unmistakably “Dyson”—bold colors, strong edges, and that iconic turbine aesthetic. But what truly separates it from others is how it sees. Using a 360° camera and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology, it creates a live visual map of your home, learning layouts, remembering obstacles, and refining its routes with each pass.

It’s less like a vacuum and more like a robotic apprentice—one that’s constantly getting smarter about how you live.

A Week in a Real Home

Set it up once, and you’ll quickly forget about it. During our week-long use, the Vis Nav impressed with laser-guided accuracy and corner-to-corner coverage. Its edge sensor arm deploys to clean right up to walls and furniture, leaving virtually no dust streaks—a common flaw in lesser bots.

The onboard AI tracks light, geometry, and even floor materials to adjust suction automatically. On carpets, it powers up; on hardwood, it glides quietly. Dyson’s app allows detailed mapping, zone targeting, and a “Boost Mode” for high-traffic areas like kitchens. It even learns to avoid pet bowls, cords, and delicate rugs after a few encounters.

The Everyday Benefits

What sets the 360 Vis Nav apart is consistency. Its powerful V12 digital motor delivers roughly twice the suction of most competing robots, and its AI precision means it rarely misses a spot. For allergy sufferers, its HEPA filtration traps fine dust and pollen—a Dyson signature.

The edge cleaning system is perhaps its most satisfying feature: you can watch the robotic arm glide out like a mechanical tongue to suck up debris right against the baseboards. Combine that with a large bin and thoughtful self-diagnostic alerts, and it’s clear Dyson designed this not as a novelty, but as a daily driver for busy households.

The Drawbacks

The 360 Vis Nav’s brilliance comes at a price—both literally and figuratively. Retailing around $1,200, it’s one of the most expensive robot vacuums available. It also lacks a self-emptying dock, meaning you’ll still need to empty the bin manually. Its height (taller than most bots) limits access under low furniture.

Battery life averages around 65 minutes per charge—fine for small to medium homes but short for large, multi-level spaces. And while its AI mapping is excellent, the setup process takes longer than plug-and-play rivals.

Pros and Cons

Pros: unmatched suction power, superior edge cleaning, intelligent visual mapping, great filtration, premium design, strong app control.
Cons: high price, no auto-empty dock, limited runtime, tall profile, occasional setup complexity.

Verdict & Star Ratings

CategoryRatingNotes
Cleaning Power★★★★★Strongest suction in its class.
Navigation & AI★★★★☆Excellent mapping; slower first setup.
Design & Build★★★★★Premium Dyson durability and aesthetics.
Ease of Use★★★★☆Smart app; manual bin emptying needed.
Value★★★★☆Expensive, but long-term reliable.

Bottom Line: The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is the robot vacuum for people who expect perfection. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s arguably the smartest—built for those who want their cleaning tech to think, not just move.
